Help Your Employees Become
The Best They Can Be!

Financial Wellness is the practice of maintaining a balance between living responsibly today and planning wisely for tomorrow.

It seems straightforward, but surprisingly few people have achieved the balance we call Financial Wellness. A lack of understanding of basic financial concepts can lead to poor fiscal choices and stress. Financial worries in turn may diminish employee productivity and concentration at the workplace.

According to studies conducted by the Kansas City Federal Reserve:

  • A financially stressed employee spends an average of 20 hours per month of work time on his/her financial problems.
  • 15-20% of employees have financial problems severe enough to affect productivity.

As Financial Advisors, one of our priorities is to promote financial literacy in the community.

The Waddell & Reed Financial Wellness Program is a tool that enables us to share our experience with those interested in improving their financial well-being.

Potential Benefits for employees: The Financial Wellness Program provides practical financial education and a personal financial plan to all Program participants. The combination of classroom learning and one-on-one counseling helps to empower participants to make sound fiscal decisions with greater confidence. The Program seeks to address participants’ immediate financial concerns while also improving the likelihood they may achieve their longer term goals and dreams.

Potential Benefits for the employer: The Financial Wellness Program promotes goodwill between employer and employee by acknowledging and attending to matters that are of great concern to your employees. A successful program may serve to reduce the absenteeism, worker distractedness, and low productivity that are the result of employees’ unaddressed financial worries. The Financial Wellness Program is a benefit that can be made available to employees at low (or no) cost to the Employer. In conjunction with other benefits, this Program can increase your company’s competitiveness in attracting and retaining the best employees.

"There’s no question that workplace wellness is worth it. The only question is whether you’re going to do it today or tomorrow. If you keep saying you’re going to do it tomorrow, you’ll never do it. You have to get on it today.”

-Warren Buffet, Chairman, Berkshire Hathaway

The Waddell & Reed Financial Wellness Program includes a series of educational classroom and one-on-one coaching sessions that make it easy for participants to implement what they’ve learned by themselves, or with the support and guidance of a professional Financial Advisor.

Education, awareness and behavior are the foundation of Waddell & Reed's Financial Wellness program.
